Experienced Criminal Defense And DUI Lawyer

Teddy Roosevelt said to, “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” That is the philosophy I will take in handling your case, whether it is an OVI arrest or other criminal arrest. I will work with the prosecution to reach the best resolution of your case. If the other side is not willing to agree to an acceptable result, I am ready and willing to present your case to a jury of your peers.

Before going into private practice in Newark, Ohio, I was a criminal prosecutor in Licking County for six years. As a result of this experience, I have a strong practical background in, and understanding of, the local court system. I also have extensive courtroom experience from trying more than 100 cases.

Representation Tailored To Your Needs

I focus my practice on four areas of law:

  • Criminal defense for people charged with a wide range of offenses, including violent crimes like assault and battery, marijuana possession, and traffic tickets.
  • OVI/DUI/DWI defense for people who have been arrested for drunk driving or who face criminal charges for a drunk driving accident.
  • Traffic offenses for people who are facing a driver’s license suspension or the loss of their commercial driver’s license.
  • Personal injury claims for people who have been seriously injured due to the negligence of another person or who have lost a family member due to accidental death.

Whether you have been injured or face criminal charges, I am committed to helping you solve your legal problem.

Several of my criminal cases have received national attention. Recently, I successfully defended a father who was prosecuted for paddling his son as a form of discipline. Please view the articles page for more information about this and other cases I have handled. In addition, I represented another young man wrongfully charged with murder. He was recently vindicated and the correct person was subsequently charged with the murder. Of course, the outcome in any case depends on the facts of your specific situation. I have also successfully represented a nationally known musical artist, the Yonder Mountain String Band. This video shows me on stage with it.
